ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION EXPERIENCE OFERS FREE SCREENINGS OF THE 360° FILM HORIZON TO SAULT STE. MARIE AND SURROUNDING AREA
SAULT STE. MARIE, JULY 16 – SESQUI’s cinematic dome continues its journey across Ontario this week, arriving at Sault Ste. Marie, as the fourth of seven cities in the provincial tour. In partnership with Ontario150, the cinematic dome will offer free screenings of HORIZON for five days from July 16th – 20th, 2017. The unmistakably red, SESQUIdome will appear in the heart of Sault Ste. Marie outside its biggest shopping centre Station Mall (near the Sears entrance), with a set of supporting festival activities.
SESQUI’s eye-catching, red cinematic dome offers an 80-person capacity with the ultimate viewing experience – shot and projecting 360° film in ultra-clear 9K resolution. Audiences will have a front row seat to the wonders of Canada through the immersive, 22-minute film HORIZON. Shot in all 13 provinces and territories, the 360° experience takes audiences on a journey through Canada, from the spectacular colours of the auroras to the high tides of Fundy. HORIZON showcases Canada as it has never been seen before.

Marie. As Canada 150 celebrations continue across the country past Canada Day, we hope to offer Canadians a once-in-a-generation experience they’ll never forget.”
The SESQUI cinematic dome is generously supported by the province of Ontario as part of a line-up of Ontario150 celebrations taking place across the province in 2017. Our travelling dome exhibition will be visiting at the same time as the ONtour Concert Series taking place in nearby Roberta Bondar Park. SESQUI is also a Canada 150 Signature Initiative, supported by the Government of Canada.

Marie, families throughout the area will experience the magic of Ontario and Canada with this breathtaking film.”
SESQUI has partnered with the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Station Mall to bring the SESQUI experience to the local area. The Sault Ste. Marie tour stop will also provide opportunities for SESQUI, Ontario150, Canada 150 and city and community partner cultural and tourism activations and a chance to win incredible prizes through SESQUI’s People’s Choice Ballot sponsored by Via Rail. SESQUI has also worked closely with its partners at the Bank of Canada and the rollout of their new $10 dollar bill, the Ontario150 promotional support and Parks Canada Canada150 activities and free passes.
