“UNIQUE CANADA 150 MOMENT WITH CROSS-AUDIENCE APPEAL” – CANADIANS REACT TO SESQUI’S FILM HORIZON 360°

Close to 20,000 Canadians provided their thoughts about our film HORIZON 360° – A Visual Symphony of Canada over the course of the summer of 2017.

After our first screenings in Calgary, Sudbury and Halifax, we quickly realized that HORIZON was appealing across the wide span of ranges 3 to 93 years old. It is one of HORIZON’s unique cinematic properties that cuts across all ages, cultures, genders and races:

  • younger audiences embrace the technology, older audiences embrace the nostalgia
  • English/French Canadians recognize the touchstones, New Canadians embrace the menagerie of scenes much larger than the neighorhoods they live in (all accessible as the film is non-narrative)
  • Canadian and Indigenous peoples both embrace the discovery of sacred art, music and traditions

All of this comes together during a once-in-a-lifetme milestone “Canada 150”. After leaving our film, the audiences recognized what they had experienced potentially been part of – a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
